As a browser-based platform, Business Hangouts depends on your browser to allow access to your camera and microphone.
With most browsers, this control is done through a lock on the left side of the address bar; but you can search the help documentation of your browser to find the camera and mic settings.
Ensure that the browser is permitted to use the camera and mic through System Settings. This is particularly important on a Mac, where, under System Preferences, then Security and Privacy, your browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge, etc.) should be allowed Camera, Microphone and Screen Recording (for screen sharing) access.
Make sure that the Camera and Microphone are allowed access. You might need to restart your browser or reload the page for these settings to take effect.
When you start the room, you will be brought through a small Mic, Camera and Audio test, where you can select your camera, mic and audio output source as a Host or Presenter. If you need to change these settings once in the Room, you can click on Tools, then Camera/Mic Settings.
Finally, you can also toggle your camera on and off along the top-bar menu with the 'start video' or 'stop video' button, as well as the mute/unmute button (this button will toggle between modes depending on what you are using).
As always, let us know if you have any questions, comments or suggestions by sending us an email to support@business-hangouts.com or clicking on the 'Submit a Request' button along the top.
Thank you for choosing Business Hangouts!
